Ockeghem Home Page as well as a substantial amount of research-related
information contained in the author's revised doctoral dissertation is currently
being updated and substantially augmented in order to be submitted for
publication in monographic form. The monograph includes information on hundreds
of items (see examples under Introduction below) not yet included on this
page. These will be added gradually to the Johannes Ockeghem Home Page

Purpose
The Johannes Ockeghem Home Page is devoted to one of the fifteenth
century's most innovative and enigmatic composers, Johannes Ockeghem
(c.1410-1497). It is my intent to collate and organize as much information as
is possible on the composer, in the hope that it will aid researchers,
scholars, and general audiences alike in a greater understanding of and
appreciation for the music of this contrapuntist. I welcome comments,
corrections, discussion, feedback, and scholarly inquiries on any of the
subjects here listed. Please feel free to Email me at
atwells@ferris.edu should you wish
reference or research assistance, or should you wish to contribute relevant
links.
Dedication
I wish to thank Dr. Jeffrey Dean, Dr. Martin Picker, and Dr. Richard Wexler
for their correspondence and insights regarding the analysis and structure of
Ockeghem's works. Special thanks go to Dr. Dale Bonge, my Ph.D. dissertation
advisor, Dr. Peter Urquhart, my M.A. thesis advisor, and finally, to Dr. Robert
White, my B.M. thesis advisor and the individual who introduced me to the
music of Ockeghem. Each of these scholars have contributed toward the impetus
for this project. It is with gratitude and respect that I dedicate this page
to them.
